The picturesque little Derbyshire Peak District village of Eyam is never shy making capital from its famous plague past. Tens of thousands of visitors flock there every year to see for themselves where a tragic story of quarantine and sacrifice was played out 355 years ago.
But don’t expect too much doom and gloom from this proud Geordie exile as he puts his own unique, tongue-in-cheek spin on the life of a plague doctor and what living in a tourist hot-spot like Eyam means to him . . . Surely a place to avoid like the plague ?
David Bell is a popular and hugely entertaining speaker. He will not only surprise you but will also make you think . . . . and certainly make you laugh out loud.
